About your Internship:

Applicants will be placed in a French company for a maximum of 6 months. These companies are usually within the hospitality industry, and can operate anywhere within France.

Your level of French and previous work experiences are highly valued when finding an internship placement, with motivation, flexibility and a sense of responsibility seen as important attributes. Your placement within a French company will allow you to further develop the skills you already possess, as well as acquire new ones as you work. You will be trained and will work closely with a supervisor, who will monitor your progress.

Work Schedule:

The working week in France is 35 hours, however, you may be asked to work a little more. Internships of three months or more may be paid a monthly salary by the employer, generally received at the end of each month.

Accomodation:

Upon arrival: Wherever you are going to work, you will be greeted in Paris. You will attend an orientation meeting, and sign documents if required. If you are going to work in a country town, you will spend the first night in Paris. You will reach your work place the day after your arrival.

During your stay you have 2 choices:

1/ You can look by yourself for housing. In this case, we suggest you begin to look for housing as soon as you have confirmation of your participation in the program.

2/ You apply for the AFX housing service. You must send the application form to the housing service with your application at the same time. It may happen that the employer provides housing. In that case, the rent will be deducted from your pay, and you will need to pay a deposit to your employer.
