One Way Programs -  Summer Programs

AFX understands that sometimes a family is not able to host a French student in their home, and this program is designed for them so they still experience many of the benefits of our popular reciprocal exchange program. In most cases there will also be some school holidays (from 18/12/2010 until 03/01/2011).

Ages: Between 14 and 17 years old.

Program Length: 5 or 10 week programs. Other durations can be organised.

Program Location: Paris or Regional France.

Program period: During your summer holidays.

Program content: The candidate is matched with a French correspondent of his/her age and is hosted by the French family. Whilst in France, the Australian student will go to school with his/her correspondent, and is completely integrated into the French family.

AFX Services: Once AFX has received a student's application, we will contact the student to arrange an informal interview with at least one parent. This enables AFX to gather the necessary information needed to truly understand the candidate's personality. All the French families will be interviewed as well in the family home. AFX will match an Australian candidate with a French student based on many factors including age, interests and personality. After the students have been matched, AFX encourages all candidates to begin emailing each other as much as possible – the more communication the better. 

AFX makes sure that all candidates will be having their private bedroom while in France and we also make sure that all adults living in the family undergo a police check.

AFX Assistance and Support: AFX is organising for the candidates to travel to Paris in a group. We have two departure dates available: 21/11/2010 and 26/12/2010. The students travel on Emirates Airlines and are escorted by an AFX staff member or representative. 

When arriving in France the students are greeted by a member of our French team at the airport in Paris, and their host family for those located in the area. For the student hosted by families in regional France, AFX will assist during this transit for group arrivals. An AFX representative will also be present at the airport for the departure. While the students are in France AFX is contactable 24/7 and give regular phone calls to the students in case they need support. We highly recommend that the student have a French sim card so we can contact them directly and so can their parents. This can be organised by AFX as an option. 

Optional Activities: AFX can organise as optional extras for all candidates:

- A 3 day cultural and  sightseeing tour Paris. 

- A 2 day Ski-trip in The French Pyrenees.

For each group AFX organises departures from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Only the groups from Melbourne and Sydney will be escorted. The group from Brisbane will only be escorted for the second part of the trip (Dubai-Paris-Dubai).
